 B. GRAMMAR REVIEW

GERUNDS: Danh cồn từ

I. FORMATION (Cách thành lập)

Danh hễ từ (gerund) được thành lập bằng cách thêm ING sau động từ thường.

Ex:to go – going; to lớn think – thinking; lớn read – reading; khổng lồ swim – swimming, etc…

II. USES (cách dùng)

1.Subject (Danh đụng từ thống trị ngữ)

Ex: Going lớn the cinema is fan.

Reading books is my hobby.

2. Stand after a preposition (Đứng sau giới từ)

Ex: I am thinking about going camping in the mountain.

She is afraid of going there.

Một số cồn từ với tính từ gồm giới tự theo sau do danh đụng từ.

To look forward to lớn (trông mong); surprised at (ngạc nhiên); busy (bận rộn); khổng lồ insist on (khăng khăng, năn nỉ nỉ); khổng lồ be interested in (thích thú).

3. Object (Danh cồn từ làm cho tân ngữ sau một số trong những động từ)

Ex: He likes swimming.

I have finished doing my homework.

Một số hễ từ được theo sau do danh cồn từ:

to finish, lớn prevent (ngăn cản), to avoid (tránh), khổng lồ delay (hoãn lại), khổng lồ enjoy (thích), lớn deny (chối bỏ), khổng lồ dislike, to lớn consider (cân nhắc), to imagine (tưởng tượng), to lớn risk (liều lĩnh), to support (ủng hộ), to lớn suggest (đề nghị), to quit (từ bỏ)…

– bọn họ cũng rất có thể đặt “not” trước “gerund” để chỉ nghĩa che định.

– một trong những động trường đoản cú dùng đối với tất cả “to infinitive” với “gerund” (ing -form). Nghĩa của chúng sẽ khác nhau.

MY VILLAGE

I live in a village by Mekong River. Every day, like most of my friends, I walk to lớn school. It is three kilometers away.
